What are Free Rehab Clinics?

According to SAMHSA, certain facilities “offer substance abuse treatment at no charge or a sliding fee scale based on income and other factors.” Individuals who need to receive treatment at a discounted price can contact one of these facilities and find out if they are eligible, as every clinic has different rules.

These clinics provide treatment to patients in the form of medications and therapeutic counseling sessions which are considered to be the two most effective treatment types for addiction patients. “SAMHSA data show that private nonprofit organizations operated the majority of facilities offering ‘all free’ care and ‘partial free care.'” As a result, when an individual attends treatment at one of these clinics, they are not required to pay or are only asked to pay what little they can, making them a much more attainable option for many individuals who have been struggling with drug abuse issues.
