Choosing Between Inpatient Rehab Centers vs. Outpatient Rehab Centers
Inpatient Rehab Centers maybe your ticket to recovery!
Typically there are two types of rehab centers – inpatient rehab centers and outpatient rehab centers. Both facilities can assist with recovery from various types of addictions and conditions such as eating disorders or mental illness. So, how do you choose whether your treatment would be best facilitated in an inpatient rehab center or an outpatient rehab center?
Outpatient Rehab Centers
With outpatient rehab centers, you will receive a specified level of support for the condition or addiction and that’s about it. For instance, you may attend a weekly class or meeting with a counselor to discuss your recovery but outside of the weekly meeting there will be little (or no) support provided. Outpatient rehab centers do not provide ongoing support once you walk out of the facility building. With outpatient rehab centers, once you leave your weekly meeting, or daily therapy session you are in the world dealing with your recovery on your own.
Inpatient Rehab Centers
Inpatient rehab centers provide 24 hour support and care for your addiction or condition. Patients live at the facility and typically are provided with everything that they need to facilitate successful recovery from addiction or conditions such as eating disorders or mental illness. Inpatient rehab centers provide around the clock care and support to promote a successful recovery.
Inpatient rehab centers usually have physicians, nurses, counselors, and various other specialists on staff to assist in your recovery and care. For those recovering from extreme eating disorders such as bulimia, or anorexia and for those recovering from mental illness or addiction, inpatient rehab centers provide the care and treatment required for a healthy and successful recovery.
