The New Direction Intensive Inpatient Alcohol Treatment

The New Direction has been providing patients with intensive inpatient alcohol treatment in Walton, New York since 1977. Founded on the philosophy that recovering addicts who are committed to a twelve step program tend to stay sober, the intensive inpatient alcohol treatment program at The New Direction Catskill Mountain farmhouse lasts a period of 21 days and is followed by long term follow up care.

Alcohol treatment at The New Direction includes a weekly family program that offers the family members of those in treatment a seminar where they can learn more about alcoholism and the concept of the disease as well as some basic information about the Al-anon Family program. These seminars are offered each week on Saturdays from 10 am until 4 pm with the family seminar being conducted at noon.

The intensive inpatient alcohol treatment program at The New Direction consists of daily in house group meetings as well as individual counseling sessions as needed or directed by the counselors on staff. Throughout the program, individuals are taught the principles of Alcoholic’s Anonymous and are provided with the support and guidance they need to fully recover from alcoholism in a comfortable and inviting environment. The New Direction alcohol treatment centers provides those in recovery with an atmosphere that evokes a sense of family, the facility is quaint and the treatment very effective.

For intensive inpatient alcohol treatment, The New Direction provides it’s residents with help and support every step of the way. From the time when they first enter treatment through their completion during which all patients are provided with the name and telephone number of an A.A. Member in their home area who can help to support them and provide continued guidance, patients who seek treatment at The New Direction can expect only the best from this Walton, New York alcohol treatment center.

The New Direction operates in a beautiful turn of the century farmhouse nestled in a picturesque Catskill Mountain valley. Its charm is accented by a huge red barn, 200 acres of rolling meadows, trout streams and a lovely spring-fed pond; ideal for swimming in the summer and skating in the winter. Inside the house is a bright cheery atmosphere of love and understanding, superb food and comfortable surroundings intended to make our guests’ stay a memorable one. We do allow smoking in designated areas throughout the property.
